Alumni Profile
Max Ankrapp
’04 B.A. Secondary Education
High School teacher
Paradise Valley High School
After working 18 years in the newspaper industry and going to school part-time, Max Ankrapp graduated from ASU with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. Now he does what he has always wanted to do…teach. He teaches advanced placement United States History at Paradise Valley High School. “I love history and I love kids, so what better job could there be than teaching history?” he says. In addition to teaching, he volunteers as a youth director for a local church, plays golf and is interested in history and playing any sport. “I would not be where I am today without the faculty at the ASU College of Teacher Education and Leadership. As I meet people and see new teachers begin their careers, I realize how prepared I was.”
The College of Teacher Education and Leadership won a national award in 2007, from the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, entitled "Excellence in Effective Partnerships."
Now you can earn a quality degree in education without moving to the big city or settling for an online program that offers little hands-on classroom experience. If you're passionate about shaping the future of your community, this is truly a tremendous opportunity.
Congratulations to all of our students who will be graduating in May! Information for you and your visitors and guests has been posted on the Public Affairs at the West campus website. Information will also be mailed out to you in early March.
We look forward to seeing your application soon. As always, call 602-543-6358, email CTELquestions@asu.edu, or CTEL_questions on Yahoo! with any questions you have!
