Professional Teacher Preparation Program

The Arizona State University College of Teacher Education and Leadership degree programs help to prepare students who intend to pursue a career in teaching by meeting certification requirements for the State of Arizona.

Program features:

Students begin teacher preparation coursework at the junior level following formal admission to the Professional Teacher Preparation Program. The curriculum provides a combination of classroom instruction, pre-student teaching field experiences in a variety of public school settings in the greater Phoenix area, and student teaching which is a full-day, full-semester obligation.

The College of Teacher Education and Leadership offers:

• Early Childhood Teaching and Leadership (birth to grade 3)
• Elementary Education (grades 1-8) degree in the following programs:
• Elementary Education
• Elementary Education - Bilingual Education Endorsement
• Elementary Education - English as a Second Language Endorsement
• Secondary Education (grades 7-12) degree in the following academic specializations:
• English
• History
• Mathematics
• Social Studies
• Special Education (grades K-12 with a dual certification in Elementary Education, grades 1-8)

Individuals who are interested in finding out more about CTEL's undergraduate Professional Teacher Preparation Program (PTPP) are required to attend a Prospective Student Orientation.
