Elementary Education

Program

The CTEL Elementary Education program prepares students to design and implement instructional programs for children from grades 1 - 8, and leads to eligibility for certification in grades 1 - 8 by the Arizona Department of Education. Elementary Education is a major within the Professional Teacher Preparation Program, ASU's comprehensive and integrated curriculum for teacher preparation.

Degrees Offered

Undergraduate
B.A.E., Elementary Education:

The BAE in Elementary Education leads to eligibility for certification to teach children from grades 1 - 8. Elementary Education is a major within the Professional Teacher Preparation Program, ASU's comprehensive, integrated curriculum for teacher preparation.

Graduate
M.Ed., Elementary Education:

The M.Ed. in Elementary Education offers six different specializations meeting the professional needs of both aspiring and current teachers. In this program, students are able to interact effectively with peers and instructors while enjoying intimate classroom settings and individual attention from caring faculty.

M.Ed., Elementary Education with Certification:

The M.Ed. Elementary Education with Certification meets Arizona's requirements for teacher certification. It is designed for those with bachelor's degrees who wish to earn both an M.Ed. degree and become certified. Two streams and a number of formats are available for this specialization.
