Project ASPIRE Supplemental Candidate Information

 

Step 1:  Apply online to the College of Teacher Education and Leadership, M.Ed. Special Education with Arizona Certification at http://ctel.asu.edu/programs/special_ed/graduate_cert/

Narrative Statements:

Project ASPIRE seeks applicants who have a strong commitment to teach in high need communities.  Describe how you meet this qualification for the community partner you have selected. 

In addition to candidates with a strong community commitment, Project ASPIRE seeks applicants who are committed to improving educational outcomes for students from high poverty families.  Describe how you meet this qualification. 

 

Project ASPIRE also seeks applicants who have a strong desire to teach students with disabilities and other special needs.  Describe how you meet this qualification.

I understand that this program has a “teach or repay” service obligation; if selected I agree to teach in the school district for three years upon program completion or repay all or a portion of the stipend received.
I have not defaulted on any other student loan program (EDGAR Regulation 75.60)
I have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
I have received no money from any other transition to teaching grant.
If selected, I will comply with district personnel requirements, including but not limited to obtaining a substitute teaching certificate and undergoing a background check.


 

   

Step 3:  Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview with Project ASPIRE personnel and school district representatives. Admission into the ASPIRE Program is a joint decision of the partner school districts and Arizona State University College of Teacher Education and Leadership that is based on application review, interviews, and completion of district personnel requirements.
